Ben Holmes
Ben Goes Behind the Scenes of Broncos Game Day.
For Brisbane Broncos Sport Business Institute graduate Ben Holmes, the fast-paced world behind every Broncos home game has become part of his everyday reality.
While spectators enjoy the excitement unfolding on the field, few get to see the intricate work that brings a Brisbane Broncos home game to life.
From the roar of the crowd to the seamless flow of on-field moments, every detail is carefully planned and executed by a dedicated game day operations team working long before kick-off and well after the final whistle.
For Brisbane Broncos Sport Business Institute (BBSBI) in partnership with TAFE Queensland, graduate Ben, this behind-the-scenes world became a reality after graduating in 2025 with a dual Diploma of Leadership and Management and Diploma of Sport (BSB50420/SIS50321).
After a career in the automotive industry, Ben transitioned into business ownership while maintaining a lifelong passion for football.
Looking to step into the sports industry, he saw the BBSBI as a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build meaningful connections within an elite sporting organisation.
“Being able to connect with people inside the club, ask questions, understand how things operate behind the scenes, and build relationships was incredibly valuable,” Ben said.
“The access to resources, and work-integrated learning, made the experience very practical rather than just theoretical.”That opportunity quickly turned into real-world experience.
“Early on, after a few games, I put my hand up for game day operations,” Ben said.
From his very first game, Ben was drawn to the fast-paced nature of game day operations.
“Game day operations are full-on, but that’s part of what makes it enjoyable,” he said.
“Tasks can range from setting up the run-out tunnel, preparing fan activation areas, organising spaces like the family lounge, and coordinating signage and on-field elements like the coin toss setup.
“The day can run from early afternoon through to late evening depending on the game, and no two games are the same.”
For Ben, the experience reinforced the importance of teamwork and attention to detail in delivering a seamless match-day experience, while also helping him build hands-on industry experience and strong professional networks within elite sport.
“It’s not about being seen, it’s about contributing to an overall experience for the fans, the players, and the organisation.”Discover where a career in sport could take you with the Brisbane Broncos Sport Business Institute.

Meet Bridget
From Classroom to Community:
Bridget Law`s Journey with the Brisbane Broncos.
Bridget Law’s day-to-day role centres on supporting and empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to thrive at school and beyond.
As a Student Support Officer with the Brisbane Broncos’ Beyond the Broncos Program, she works closely with students, schools and communities to help students in Years 7–12 get the most out of their schooling experience.

A key part of Bridget’s role involves building strong relationships with students, school staff, Elders and the wider community, while providing ongoing support to help students succeed both in and outside the classroom.
“No two days are ever the same, which makes the role really enjoyable,”
“I love being able to make a positive impact in these young people’s lives and support them to achieve their best."
“It’s incredibly rewarding watching their growth and progress over time.”
Bridget’s pathway into the role was far from straightforward.
After finishing high school, she enrolled in a university bridging course before realising the traditional study pathway was not the right fit for her.
She then gained experience across a range of industries, including retail, event coordination, and early childhood education and care, where she completed both her Certificate III and Diploma qualifications.
Although she enjoyed working in childcare, Bridget knew she was searching for a career that better aligned with her passions and long-term goals.
“When I came across the Brisbane Broncos Sport Business Institute (BBSBI) , I was immediately hooked,” she said.
“The course combined my passion for sport with leadership and management skills, while also offering practical industry experience.
“Once I explored the course details, it genuinely felt like the perfect fit.”
Bridget completed a dual Diploma of Leadership and Management and Diploma of Sport (BSB50420/SIS50321) in partnership with TAFE Queensland.
Reflecting on her time at BBSBI, Bridget described the experience as both challenging and rewarding.
“It was definitely fast-paced and hard work, but it was so worth it,” she said.
“We had incredible educators, amazing support staff, and a class full of people who became some of my closest friends."
“The work-integrated learning opportunities gave us real insight into the many different roles behind the scenes of a world-class sporting organisation.”
After graduating, Bridget continued working in childcare while waiting for the right opportunity to step into the sports industry.
That opportunity came when a Student Support Officer role became available within the Broncos Community Department, marking the beginning of her journey with the club.
“The role combined my passion for supporting people with my interest in schools and sport, so I was incredibly excited to apply and very fortunate to be successful,” Bridget said.
Looking back, Bridget said BBSBI gave her far more than just a qualification.
“It helped build my confidence, grow my network, and develop skills that I still use every day in my role,” she said.
“The knowledge, hands-on experiences and networking opportunities all played a huge part in helping me get to where I am today.”
